Horace Grant was a key member of the Chicago Bulls dynasty that dominated the NBA during the early 1990s, combining elite rebounding, defensive intensity, physicality, and efficient interior scoring.
Selected with the 10th overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft, Grant developed into an essential part of Chicago’s championship core alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
His defensive versatility and ability to control the boards provided crucial balance to the Bulls’ offense. Grant also became instantly recognizable for the protective goggles he wore on the court, creating one of the most distinctive images of the championship-era Bulls.
Under head coach Phil Jackson, Grant played a major role as Chicago captured three consecutive NBA championships in 1991, 1992, and 1993.
During the 1993–1994 season, Grant produced one of the finest campaigns of his career, averaging 15.1 points and 11.0 rebounds per game and earning an NBA All-Star selection.
Grant later continued his successful career with the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers, ultimately adding a fourth NBA championship with Los Angeles in 2001.
